Nick Boutros began meditating in college as a way to manage stress, and eventually received traditional training in the suttas, deep meditation states, and dharma teaching at the Bhavana Society as well as with Bhante Gunaratana’s students. He has been a Buddhist practitioner for over 20 years and has explored multiple Buddhist traditions. Nick currently practices in both Theravada and Tibetan Buddhism and is deeply interested in lovingkindness practices, death contemplation, and the unique and individual paths of dharma students in the Western world. He received a master’s degree in contemplative psychotherapy from Naropa University in 2006 and is a psychotherapist in Greenfield, where he specializes in therapy with LGBTQI folk, clinical hypnosis, and the integration of spirituality and meditation in mental health. He began teaching at IWM in 2017.
