The teachers at IWM have roots in various streams of the Theravada tradition. Most have practiced meditation at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts, and at other Insight Meditation centers in the United States. Many have also practiced Vipassana meditation at centers in Asia. Some join their Theravada roots with practices in other Buddhist lineages, as well as other body and mind practices.
Teachers rely on the generosity of their students, following the ancient tradition of dana (Pali word translated as generosity). Your donation enables the teachings to continue to be offered, as the generosity of previous generations have enabled the teachings to be passed on to us.
To give teacher dana, select the teacher who is to receive your gift.
IWM Teachers Council
We are deeply grateful to our former Guiding Teachers who have carried IWM through the years, offering their wisdom, energy, and dedication to our sangha and to the flourishing of the Dhamma, including Rebecca Bradshaw, who guided the center for 20 years, and others.

Teacher-Student Meetings
Teacher-student meetings are offered for those actively practicing meditation who would like to confer with a teacher about that practice. Discussions may focus on specific questions about one’s meditation practice itself or concerns about the integration of practice into one’s daily life. For more details, including a list of teachers you may contact directly, see this printable document.
