The quality of our attention determines the quality of our experience. The Buddha repeatedly emphasized Yoniso Manasikāra—wise, skillful attention—as the foundation for insight, freedom, and the ending of suffering. When we attend to experience wisely, we gain clarity on the impermanent, conditioned nature of the body, feelings, thoughts, and emotions. This clarity helps us loosen the habitual cycles of grasping and resistance, allowing wisdom and compassion to emerge naturally.
During this half-day hybrid (on-line and in-person) retreat, we will cultivate this profound practice through periods of silent and guided meditation, mindful movement, and reflections. Suitable for new and experienced practitioners, this retreat offers a supportive space to deepen mindfulness and discover the transformative power of attending wisely to each moment.
This program is for those who identify as BIPOC practitioners (Black, Indigenous, People of Color).
